2007 Heart of Marin Awards
Heart of Marin Awards honor volunteers and Nonprofits
Marin volunteers, agency executives and nonprofits were honored by 630 people, January 10, at the Marin Center Exhibit Hall. Trips for Kids took home one of the top awards – Achievement in Non Profit Excellence. The ceremony was sponsored by the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership of Marin in partnership with Tamalpais Bank – the founder of the Awards in 1992. The event is an annual showcase of the work done by local nonprofits and their volunteers. The Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Dr. David Fankushen, Ritter Center, for his work and medical expertise with low-income and homeless clients.

“Each year we have the opportunity to pay tribute to people who follow their hearts by giving back to the Marin County Community.” “This program was born from a deep belief that businesses have a responsibility to support local charitable activities and build relationships that benefit the community.” – Mark Garwood, Chairman, President and CEO Tamalpais Bank
